After around two hundred kilometres in the valley of the Young Danube, the famous river reaches Ulm, an important centre of trade. The Minster Of Ulm is a masterpiece of European Gothic and, rising up a hundred and sixty one metres, its church tower is the highest in the world. Donauwörth developed from a fishing settlement on the Wörnitz island of Ried from where the river flows into the Danube. In 877 A.D. a bridge was built across the Danube and an intersection of European trade routes was created. Linz, the capital city of Upper Austria, owes its good fortune to its strategic location at the junction of the Traun. On the main square, an ornately decorated Trinity Column marks the spot where the mediaeval Salt Road reached the market square. The Babenbergs built the city as a border fortress against the Bavarians. The capital of Hungary, Budapest, is the Pearl On The Danube, an ancient international city. High above the banks of the Danube is Buda’s Castle Hill with its imposing Castle Palace. The Danube ends in the port town of Sulina Delta in which a cathedral serves as a reminder of liberation from the Turks. In this natural universe of land and water, which originated almost ten thousand years ago, nearly three thousand kilometres of river come to an end. The Danube is a multicultural European lifeline, a magnificent waterway that flows through both history and time.

Római Part - At the Northern end of Buda there is this long strech known as the Roman Banks. With many bistros spread out, it's a relaxing place to have drinks and food.
https://goo.gl/maps/XuUa4dd1hTjWdc666
Bálna - Perhaps less chill but easy to access thanks to it being close to the Fővám tér. An old industrial building redesigned to be a commercial space with lots of food and drink places.
https://goo.gl/maps/8kRHhbFZZjuW5ByJ6
Népsziget - At the Northern side of Pest we have this place with many bistros lined on the shores of the Danube. It's worth the trip with Subway M3 and a little bit of walk as you can also get a nice view of the sunset from here.

Chilling next to the Danube river in Budapest is one of the best things you could do during Summer when you visit Hungary. In this video we'll show you some of our recommendations if you wish to get close to the Danube, relax and have a few drinks or snacks while in Budapest.
In this video we are covering the following areas:
Kopasz Gát - A dam on the southern side of Buda, which can be accessed with Bus 105 from the city center. It offers lots of green space and some nice bistros with terraces.
https://goo.gl/maps/iziJvwZz4n9JvmKH8
Dürer Kert - A concert venue on the south side of Buda where you can enjoy a few drinks and also some snacks and sit right next to the water. You can visit the place even if you don't wish to go to a concert (when the events are held inside the concert hall). Easy to reach with Bus 133.

Travel video about destination Danube Watermeadow in Austria.
Landscapes such as the Danube Water Meadows have become increasingly rare in Europe and with its astonishing variety of animals, plants and picturesque scenery it is of unique environmental importance. For more than a century the beaver was extinct in Austria but this fascinating creature has now been reintroduced. Both hardwood and softwood trees can be found in the densely vegetated forests and they are surpassed in their beauty only by the colourful meadows of springtime. Today around twenty percent of the national park consists of water and according to recent estimates over sixty varieties of fish inhabit this region of which around half are endangered species. The Danube Water Meadows National Park is an irresistible attraction and one of the last remaining natural riverscapes in Europe to have survived the encroachment of Man.
